Moved 1 & 2 Exhibition
2022 & 2023
After moving to Birmingham to study Visual Communication, I participated in two ‘Moved’ exhibitions. Curated by Kate Jones (@craftybrum), the exhibitions featured artwork from international creatives who chose Birmingham as their second home. Both exhibitions highlighted the creative minds and talents of Birmingham’s international community while celebrating the artistic spirit and energy of their new city.
The first ‘Moved’ exhibition took place at The Engine Room, Birmingham in October 2022. I chose to do a screen printed design since I was doing my university residency at the time, overlapping geographical and cultural elements of Birmingham and Seoul to express my two homes.
The second ‘Moved’ exhibition took place in May 2023 at the CASS art store of the Birmingham library. This infamous Birmingham landmark was the theme of the exhibition. Inspired by the colours and geometric pattern of the library’s facade, I combined all of the building’s signature elements using my rough brush stroke technique to create an overlapping pattern.
